Sub Vector Session 2

For the first time in my life, I feel like a normal guy.

I've been a gawky Big Bird my whole life. Everything always seemed harder for me than a normal person. I can't dance around on a surfboard like a ballerina. The little guys do that!

Well this board has changed all that. For once in my life, everything is EASY!

I feel like I can do anything. I'm ripping the way I have only dreamed about doing it. I'm on the stomp pad and ripping! No need to nurse my footwork.

The board catches everything. I'll bet it's faster than any 10 or 10'6 out there in mushy surf.

I stand by my initial opinion that this is the most stable board I have ever surfed. Plus the most lose.

I'm using Vector II 450 Quads.

Winds had been 25-30 all day. Sea was a mess, but winds backed off near sunset. It made the ocean extremely rough. There were a few decent waist high waves for session number two.

Good report! How does it feel that the search is over? :-)

It feels great.

Race boards might become the next money drain.

Sounds like you're in love..:)

I wonder how it would feel at my size? I'm aiming for 230 for this spring.

Are you still paddling in CHill's race? If I make it down I'm bringing the quiver with me....or a good part of it anyway.

The sub vector should work fine at 230. It will surprise you with its stability.

We'll do the race if its windy. I've done a few downwinders in the ocean in light wind and I hated it.

Good morning, Bob don't worry I am 6'2" and 235 pounds I have been surfing since I was 18 and I love to walk the board or dance as some call it. I have only been SUP for about 2 1/2 year and it all comes with time and training. Also check out Hobie.com and look at their 11'6" or the 12' ATR SUP boards I have been on the 11'6" and just ordered the 12' ATR and it will be here next week. Both of these are very stable and very easy to surf with or without a paddle.
According to the guys at the board factory bigger participans is definately happening. A lot of the larger Hawaiians are getting onto race boards and need the float. I also have coming a race board in the same shipment as the 12 foot ATR. It is a 12'6" a cross between the 12'6"CR-1 and 12'6" FR-1 that is on the Hobie website. The 12'6" CR-1 is the board that Hobie team rider Chuck Patterson rode in the Battle of the Paddle which he plced first. The board I have coming is the board that one of the other team riders rode it placed 11th out of the field. I should have them here next weekend and hope to be on the water you are welcome to come down and take a look any time and try one of them out.
