Here is a progress update on Jacky's custom 9'0 Sub Vector. This bad ass board has 5 "futures" boxes, no longboard box.
It is almost finished. Here it is prior to sanding off the leash plug and sanding the whole board. It currently weighs 12.5 lbs. That's about half the weight of mine. It will have a sanded finish, no gloss.
I see whole bunch of these sick light weight sub vectors in our future! Brad, the Brians, Z man, who wouldn't want one of these sick boards.
My plan is to demo the 9'6 production sub vector, then decide on my custom shape.

Man, that is light! Board looks awesome! Did they say what the finished product will weigh? Maybe 15-16lbs?
Maybe 1.5 lbs for deck pad, but it will loose weight during sanding.
Fins will be the heavy adder.
Awesome looking board, I bet you cant wait to get it in the water.
DW,
Question for you, what board would you recommend for a 115 lbs women surfer who want to start on a SUB, paddle for now with intention of surfing it. This would be her 1st board. and planning on buying and using it in SoCal
CT
I've heard of women who say, I don't want to fall. If she's that type, anything around 10 ft.
If she's more like a guy, I'd say 9'6 to learn, then a low volume 9 footer for surfing.
The problem women have is not having the weight to sink the tail and have real control over the board. They end up sticking the nose on steep drops because moving back has no affect on trim at their weight.
That's where the C4 bat tail has a real market. Kids and light women. There is nothing else out there with so little volume.
I was thinking along the same line as you, C4 Bat, because of its low volume and it is small enough for her to carry.
