Naish Demo Day

The van loaded with Naish boards. All for me and Igor. Nobody else braved the temps in the 30s.

The 9'5

Notice the lonely mast foot. The 10'6 we had was missing the foot insert

9'3 bottom showing the V. This is likely why the 9'3 is only a little more stable than the much smaller 8'10. The 8'10 is single concave.

DW, Is that the Hokua 9'3"? Do you know if it comes with a mast insert? Which was more stable...the Mana 9'5" or the Hokua 9'3"? Thanks...

That is the 9'3 Hokua. Nothing under 10'6 has a mast foot.

The Mana 9'5 is twice as stable as the 9'3.

The 9'5 is more stable than my Sub Vector.

30s?

Yeah, 30s.

I wore a ski hat over my hoodie.

Wool socks inside my booties.

A heavy poly pro shirt under my wool lined Patagonia wetsuit.

Plus glacier gloves.

We surfed for 4 hours.

How did each surf/paddle?

The inherent stability of the 9'5" to me always meant more waves, but do you sacrifice wave ripping ability (which is to be expected)?

There was a small comment on Stand Up Zone that said "Kalama now spends most of his time surfing the 9'5" and loves it" - if you had to pick one, which would it be???

The 9'5 was the big surprise of the demo for me. I had so much fun on it, I had to order one. It turns great, catches everything, and is just silly stable.

I had not liked any longboard style boards before, but this 9'5 was a blast.

I also ordered the 8'10. Insane board. Lots of yellow boards are in my future!

So how does the 8'10 compare to the subvectors. Did the 8'10 have enough float / stability for you?

The 8'10 has half the stability of a sub vector. It's pretty radical to surf at my weight.

It will be Jacky's primary board and my occasional board.
