Anyone remember Berky Composites from Islamorada Florida? The most advanced slalom boards built in the US during the 90s. Jacky and I owned 2 of them. All carbon fiber and built using higher pressure forming than the industry norm.

Well the guy behind that brand has resurfaced in South Carolina. He built a 38' trimaran. Now he's doing race SUPs. This is someone to watch out for. He designed for the top world touring pros of windsurfing. If you're looking for an edge, this is a guy worth checking out.

DW, check my blog. My email isn't working.
Man, what a blast from the past! Pat was a great technical editor for the windsurfing mags! Those Berky's you had were sweet, deck recessed a little from the mast track forward to the nose! Wow, wondered what he has been up to, good to see him in the SUP arena! He has great knowledge in construction techniques!
Did you notice his logo is the same as the old Berky logo, just a lettering change!
Dwight pat and i met thru some friends that mentioned he shaped paddle boards. Went for a paddle yesterday and I will get him in the water now.. His board looked great. Was small for he and I but what a shape. I was Impressed and stoked to have discovered a master craftsman in my backyard.. Mahalo
Just wanted to thank you for posting this on your blog! What a surprise! I know I may be a bit biased but these boards are beautiful & true works of art. He truely is a master craftsman.
Thanks again for your post!
Warmly,

Suzanne,
I hope you and Pat can come to one of the Coastal Urge races this season. The next one is May 15th. The last race drew 100 people.
Any time Pat has some news, send it my way. I'd be happy to promote his work. My wife and I won a Berky at the Islamorada Pro Am. We own Pat big time for that gift and would love to help him. It was one of his Spoon boards!
I will be sure to keep you updated because if you know Pat, he is a man of few words, as for me not so much. We are planning on going to the Jupiter Kite Invasion this weekend with boards in tow as there will be a SUP event if weather allows.
Those spoons were way ahead of their time...much like his SUP designs.
I will put May 15th down on the calendar!
